I’m all about solo Harry, actor Harry, whatever any of the other boys wanna do. But I also still hold out hope that one day they’ll come back, if only for my own selfish reason - I’ve never gotten to see them live. So a while back I started to fantasize about a concert of sorts, a reunion show if you will, that would be broadcast on television. I haven’t really taken the time to make a complete dream setlist, but here are some highlights that I think would be extraordinary:
*THREE SPECIAL GUESTS - Robbie Williams joins them on Hey Angel, Stevie Nicks on What A Feeling, and Paul Simon on Walking in the Wind. I can even picture Stevie with her twirl and her singing the line “whatever chains are holding you back”.
*THE VERY FIRST PERFORMANCE OF IF I COULD FLY - Everyone will go insane! Complete with piano and intimate spotlights. Anyone who was ever on the fence about this band will lose all doubt. I have chills thinking about it.
*AN ACOUSTIC/INTIMATE SECTION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOW - During this part, there’s like a rug in the middle of the stage, maybe some candles. The boys perform Long Way Down (this is performed in a row standing, but then they sit on stools for the rest), AM, and I Want To Write You A Song (maybe throw in 18 or Night Changes, or even Through The Dark) AND THEN…
*THE FIRST PERFORMANCE OF FOOL’S GOLD!!!! - Okay this is my favorite song so I’m crossing my fingers that it gets added to a future setlist. I need it!!
*TEMPORARY FIX, NEVER ENOUGH AND WOLVES - Need I say more? After the acoustic section, they rock it out to these three and the audience loses their shit.
*OLIVIA - They actually get an orchestra for this one. C’mon.
After these, I’m cool with whatever. They can throw in Perfect or Drag Me Down if they want, or even SOML or WMYB, I don’t care. I’ll be so jazzed by this point.
